I made a Medium account

I downloaded the Medium app today. I have bewitched by its slick interface and low barrier to entry. I wrote two ramblings, and then published the Aluminium Foil Interview there. I'll probably just keep writing ramblings. I'll reserve the blog for more thematic stuff. Don't expect anything.  So far, it seems like my stuff on Medium won't be seen by anyone unless they follow it. So I'm linking to my profile so that I can find it when I come back and look at this blog post. Maybe I'll finally get something to write about. Until then, goodbye.

Chapter/Part 1

“Marvellous Detective Agency?” It was a fat, balding man in an expensive suit. Aditya couldn’t believe his eyes. He quickly ushered the man in and made him comfortable in one of the two chairs in the room. “Let’s get down to business, then. Could you call Mr. Yogyanath?” Aditya’s expression fell. ”Oh. You want Mr. Yogyanath.” “Yes. Is that a problem?” “No. It’s just that he’s the owner of the Marvellous Detective Agency on the west side. In case you reconsider, here’s our card." This was the fifth time that month that a customer had come to him looking for that damned Yogyanath. But there was nothing he could do. He had registered his business on Google, and a month later he knew the address of his competitor down to the plot number. He was just about ready to give up on this venture of his. And what about Keith? He may have been just an assistant, but Aditya was still responsible for him. His phone started ringing. He looked at it. “Speak of the devil.” He picked

So Long, Farewell

Auf Wiedershen, Goodbye. It’s a short one for my last non-fiction post. You may have noticed that I didn’t post this Thursday, and that is because I wanted to make an announcement. Friends, fans, it is with great sadness that I announce my retirement from non-fiction writing. I have my calling in fiction. I will mostly post rough drafts of my writings, but there will be some non-fiction from time to time. So you will (hopefully) still be able to find good content here, and, if you want to, you can comment on it. I know I would find that helpful. So without further ado, goodbye.     -Dan, non-fiction writer

FAQ About My Blog

What is my blog? First of all, it's a blog, and so has most of the characteristics of most other blogs: it's available online, not very well written, and kind of pointless. It is different in that it does not target a niche, or really any sort of audience, is of no obvious value to anyone, and does not try to convince people otherwise.  I don't know how many posts I'll write, or what they'll be about. I intend to write regularly, and about topics I find interesting, but I have been known to be fickle when it comes to hobbies. To be fair to it, it's not meant to be good. I only started it to have a reason to write regularly, after all. It does not have a theme, let alone a niche theme. I might decide to write about movies one day, and then songs a week later. I don't promote it, and I haven't told anybody except my girlfriend, because, well, she's my girlfriend. What is it for? Primarily, it’s for my writing practice and am

Aluminium Foil Balls

My pride and joy. What are they? They're balls of aluminium foil. What are their uses? They are very versatile, and can be used for many things: paperweight, (bad) door stopper, toy, weapon, and aluminium foil storage, to name a few. My history with them My first meeting with aluminium foil was in the first standard. Like most moms, mine would wrap sandwiches and other assorted foodstuffs in the material. Like most kids, I would crumple it and play with it. But my interest went further. In my eyes, the purity of the aluminium was marred by the air in it, so I tried to bang all the air out of it. I ended up with a slightly denser, smaller ball. I couldn't compress it any further with my hands, but I wanted more density. My 10 year-old self's solution: More foil. So I added more foil, the source of which was the leftover from packed lunches. This also meant there were a lot of tiny pieces of food in the ball. I often wondered what would happen to them.

Hello There.

Yes, you. How are you this fine morning/afternoon/evening? Cool, cool. Welcome to my blog. I intend to keep writing it as a hobby, regardless of how popular it gets. Of course, it wouldn't hurt if it got popular. As a responsible consumer, it is your job to tell me if you think I'm doing something wrong, or could do it better. I don't promise to agree, but I will listen. Probably. This blog has no central theme, and the only defining characteristic is that the posts have almost nothing to do with each other, except that I find the topics interesting. If you ask me, it's not a very good one, but then what do I know about writing? Anyway, see you.
